At ICON Hospital, we have developed expertise in several clinical programs:
The Pulmonary Program at ICON Hospital is specifically designed to remove patients from ventilator support and to decrease oxygen requirements for patients with high flow oxygen and tracheostomies. This program incorporates a joint practice protocol under the direction of a board-certified Pulmonologist. Interdisciplinary services are provided to patients who are ventilator or tracheostomy dependent and require weaning, as well as patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), or those recovering from Pneumonia. Our goal is to help patients breathe on their own again and regain their independence.
Infectious Disease Program:
Patients with infections are managed by a board-certified Infectious Disease Physician. Our clinical staff receives specialized training in the practice of infection control. Our program focuses on the treatment of infections and their complications, as well as protecting patients from acquiring further infection. Conditions include, but are not limited to, endocarditis, osteomyelitis, bacteremia/septicemia, cellulitis and fungemia.
The ICON Hospital Wound Program offers many treatment options for patients with skin integrity problems such as burns, ostomies, non-healing wounds, post-surgical wound complications, fistula management and decubitus ulcers. At ICON Hospital, we understand the hardships of these skin problems. Our approach to wound management combines the services of a dedicated Wound Ostomy Specialist, the expertise of our team of surgical specialists, nutrition protocols and access to the most effective advances in wound healing technology.
Medically Complex Program:
This program provides protocols and proven goal oriented treatment modalities for those patients with an acute episode of illness complicated by chronic conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus, chronic kidney disease with or without dialysis and cardiovascular disease. Our approach emphasizes interdisciplinary coordination of services.
